This is a drama/comedy folks - not a typical Jack Black flick

I watched this movie not expecting much. I knew nothing about it. When it was over, I turned to my husband and said: I loved it. And I did. Why? Because it surprised me. It intrigued me. It made me uncomfortable. It made me laugh at times - but it also moved me. Isn't that entertainment? If anyone is watching this expecting a full-out, slapstick comedy, they are going to be disappointed. If you go in with an open mind and no expectations, then you might be pleasantly surprised.
The basic theme, to me, was a lesson in appreciating what you have. Especially with social media, these days, people are so caught up in focusing on what other people have - because all they see are the perfect family pictures and the big, posed smiles, and the seemingly expensive vacations. People don't see the imperfections, which exist within us all. And they want what they don't have. This movie was a perfect exploration of that.

Now I've gotta see this movie. I honestly never heard of it until today, when I was reading the Wikipedia page for (I think?) Jason Schwartzman. Nice review. Thanks.

Excellent analysis: spot on. I was expecting two hours of pure escapist silliness but was rewarded with something a little dark and thought-provoking.
