its been a long time since i have seen a decent original horror movie , and this one is really good with great performance from thomas jane , this movie have same idea of the skeleton key one of my favorite horror movies , if u like skeleton key u gonna like this

no offence but I don't think you've seen many recent horror films if you rate this that high.. skeleton key was good.. watch Jessabelle if you liked that.. that's recent and tons better than this film. also conjuring, insidious, sinister, babbadook, Annabelle are all recent horror films off the top of my head right now which were all way better than this film.. which wasn't terrible... but wasn't good either..
shareI loved this film, but for me, it's not as if I haven't liked a lot of recent horror. In fact, all three Blumhouse films that just showed up on Netflix streaming--this one, Curve and Visions, have been really good in my opinion.
Re the comment from someone else in this thread about Asylum, I wouldn't disagree with that, but with the caveat that this was more in the vein of The Haunting of Winchester House, Hold Your Breath or The Haunting of Whaley House, all of which are very good films in my opinion, even if they're more low budget-feeling and not as polished as Blumhouse's work.
if you are comparing to horror available on netflix then maybe. but even then badadook is way better. even Sting is a lot better even tho it's a comedy
