Deep South? No. It should just say "South"

The plot summary says "A pilot lands work for the CIA and as a drug runner in the deep south during the 1980s."

But Mena, Arkansas is not in the deep south.

*Edit: IMDB has now corrected the plot summary to say "south" and not "deep south". Good job.

I heard they were looking for people who owned cars from the 70 and 80 In good condition

How about you visit Mena, Arkansas and get back to us on that. Smh

I've been to Mena, Arkansas twice. Once in 2012, and again this spring. I have close relatives who live there, and were born there.

Arkansans are southern, but the "Deep South" has a specific meaning. Here is a map showing the "Deep South": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_South

IMDB agreed with me, and changed the storyline description from "deep south" to "south".

The definition is somewhat arbitrary, it's meaning isn't as specific as you assert. The article you cited even mentions that "Arkansas is sometimes included" in the definition.

According to your map there Louisiana is in the Deep South and that is where this movie begins. The thing is only this kind of thing could go on in the South. Only Southerners lack the sort of morality that would prevent them from participating in doing things like this. The whole of Texas, for example, is filled with billionaires that filched the wealth of all Americans through the oil business and lets not even get started on the tel-evangelists.

But like deep south sounds more badass

I would suggest that in the case of this movie the Deep South is that of Colombia and Nicaragua because they are both as deeply south in the Northern Hemisphere was one can get.
