So... WHO was actually behind Nerve? (Ending spoilers)

After Vee's friend hacker group took down Nerve, it doesn't answer the question on who actually created the game and the mastermind behind it all.

Think about it... there are 3 groups. Watchers, Players, Prisoner. Watchers only watch, Prisoner your their bitch, Players get the job done.

BUT.

WHO is wiring the money to the players? Certainly not the Watchers nor the Prisoners. Most of the Watchers are Teenagers / adult and most of them aren't rich.

Also, whoever accepts to be a watcher or player have all there online accounts and information downloaded to the servers. Whoever is behind Nerve is as a genius as the Bitcoin creator who till this day is unknown.

Thoughts? Could it be the government? Rich people all over the world?

I thought the app handled the money transfers.

The watchers offer up money for the dares, when the dare is completed, the app takes money from the watchers' accounts, and forwards it to the players' accounts.

The money is not an issue. Watchers pay a monthly fee. 20,- a month. Adds up when getting thousands of viewers. What bugs me, is the prisoner setup. Who decides where and how. Who takes care of the props there. The iMac, the container, the writings, light, power. Can't be all a group thing, can it?

Yeah I wondered that too. I think the intention was for us to think it was just run by the people, mob mentality, all that. But clearly someone at least got it started.

I'm thinking it was just some guy who wrote a code and made an app, having no idea how big it would get.

In fact, I was thinking that as they reached the final scene, they might end up tracking down the original developer, and he ends up helping somehow. Like "I'm so ashamed, I can't believe people are dying because of it, I'll help you destroy it."
