Great concept

I loved the 'Thunderdome' concept. Two enter, one leaves... The story was nicely advanced, each trade becoming more and more difficult and the rewards grew. The Vernon Stynes character was annoying and a supension of belief - why would Harry continue on with such risks when that loose cannon is about.
I would have liked to see the woman trader explored a bit further... how would Harry deal with that?
The ending worked, but felt a bit 'thrown on for effect'.

I liked it too, hopefully(or not) an American version will be made. I agree I would have killed Vernon the first time when kept attacking. That should have foretold him Vernon is a backstabber (literally). I knew once he let him live that Vernon would want his money back and once he saw Harry being successful would become very jealous. The only part is the ending. I thought Vernon would kill Harry not the other way around.
As for the female, I can see them making a sequel to the movie doing it from her point of view and then we find out that she was the "one more" trade that ended with Harry and we get a final outcome. It was different and was nice to watch.

(SPOILERS)

For me, I got the Fight Club vibe - not that it was in his head though. I also felt it was going in the direction where Harry would get killed so I'm glad it didn't work out that way. I actually really appreciated that twist ending.

I agree with every word!
Loved the Fight Club / Margin Call vibe. According to the ratings this film is very underrated!
The "that's how I've spent the last 4 months of my life" moment game me chills. His eyes in the end were the eyes of an addicted gambler, who tries to persuade himself that he's not addicted and that this is "the last time"... Oh that fake feeling of being in control!..
A truly perfect ending!
