Only 4.5?

I liked this film. There aren't many good werewolf flicks out there after The Howling, An American Werewolf in London, and Dog Soldiers.

The FX weren't great, but otherwise I thought this film was well done. In the first 45 minutes there isn't much time devoted to the skinwalker, and I started enjoying the movie just as a good Western. It really could have worked just as well that way, minus the skinwalker.

But overall, not bad. I give it a 5.6

Werewolf films are, like vampire films, generally sad shoddy bunch.

The ones you listed are some of the best. The first scene of Howling in the peep show booth is probably one of my favorites, the rest is pretty queer, but still a good (werewolf) film.

We quite enjoyed Wolfcop. It is very bad, and knows it, but quite fun.

And there's the equally appalling Mario van Peebles werewolf cop action, I forget the name.

EDit: just remembered Wolf with Nicholson/Pfeiffer, I really like that one.
