My daughter was watching this today and this show is beyond horrible! I used to watch the original show way back in the 90s and I'm curious just what the hell happened to this show?
This is very simply the worst! the fighting the voice acting, I have no experience in film but I honestly believe I could do better with no knowledge of directing a series.
Even for children this show sucks!
Might want to re-watch the one you watched in the 90's. It's much worse.

I find Dino Charge entertaining so far and it's been a long time since I thoroughly enjoyed a PR season since RPM. The only PR seasons that I would call terrible are Mystic Force, Wild Force, Operation Overdrive, Samurai and Super Megaforce.

Lightspeed rescue is great. It's one of my favourite seasons. I love the villains, maybe except for Vypra but I find her hot. The main villain was really ruthless and despicable, and scared me as a kid. That arc where Ryan had this snake tattoo imprinted on his back...that gave me a lot of nightmares when I was a kid. I remember freaking out standing in front of the mirror and seeing a similar tattoo on my back that will eventually kill me.

I think you're being blinded by nostalgia. The original 3 Seasons weren't bad but Dino Charge is one of the seasons to easily surpass them in quality (see also RPM, Time Force, and imo Ninja Storm & Dino Thunder)
If you were watching Power Rangers Samurai or Mega Force....you're right. Those SUCK compared to the ANY season, but try out one of the recent greats, and I think you'll be impressed. I STRONGLY suggest RPM if you're looking for good acting, character development, an intriguing story arc and jokes that are actually funny.

Have you not seen Samurai, Super Samurai, Megaforce and Super Megaforce ?. THOSE are unequivocally the very rock bottom of the Power Rangers franchise, Dino Charge is a decent if not slightly above average season.

Yes, there is still logic that mostly kids would accept and understand (like a monster wanting to go trick or treating and the minions all eating candy), but the acting, humor, and fun are much improved since the last few PR seasons. I've seen enough episodes of Samurai, back when the hype was still fresh over #tbt. The hype was understandable. Power rangers on Nickelodeon, the theme, Bulk, return of the power rangers.
But PR since Samurai has just fell flat, like, really flat. The animations and lazy effects make the explosions and sparks look like amateur work. Often times during morphed scenes, they show japanese characters on posters and signs... I mean, come on. I know the show uses Sentai footage, but that can at least be editted out. Jayden was supposed to be this great, determined leader, but I just found his role overly cheesy. Swag was fronted by bland acting. The same issue with Troy and the cast of Mega Force during most of the seasons. It was even more ridiculous that the rangers carried their swords around during battle to fight unmorphed. Like, you're gonna carry around this big swords without morphing?
Then there are the zords. I never liked the blocky look of the zords. The best way to describe their looks would be to imagine the zords from the Lost Galaxy.
Dino Charge does have the bad effects, and tacky megazord design, and cheap acting from a "caveman" and a ranger from another time period, but the others give solid performances. Even with a caveman who speaks in broken english, the cast display humor that has made me laugh multiple times, and it doesn't seem forced.
I am kind of embarrassed to say that the season is decent for a Nickelodeon season, and find the show bearable.
I have spent the past several months catching up on PR. I bounced out during the great Ranger swap in Turbo...man that season stunk....any way

Operation Overdrive....I understand the complaints, and to some degree, agree. Though it is FAR better than Turbo.
Samurai...watched about three episodes and skipped to the Female Red Ranger....that was painful.
Mega Force hurts.
Super Mega Force should have been its own season, not a second half, but overall I didn't like it.
RPM. DAMN!!!! I marathon that in just a few days....outstanding.
MMPR ( watched it "live" in 93)....that's painful now....big time.
Time Force, I'm about 6 episodes in and like what I see so far.
Spd....watched the first three...ill come back

Turbo has better Zords than Overdrive, Better Rangers than Overdrive and Turbo has a great finale
Even Megaforce&Super Megaforce are way better than Samurai
Well, i liked turbo

A lot of fans hated turbo and called it "the worst season of power rangers"
But the 2nd half of turbo is a little better
I liked the zords and the costumes
If you liked overdrive, thats fine
For me the saving grace of Turbo was the cast (minus he that shall not be named). I don't know about the rest of you, but the costumes and Zords are least important part of the show.

This thread has gone off topic a bit so let me get back to "Dino Charge".
I like it. What strikes me most about "Dino Charge" is that these Ranger actors have comic ability. I am not saying they make me fall to the ground laughing but they don't seem to mind making fools of them selves on camera...we did not always get that in previous versions.
