In dino charge and dino super charge, the energems are rare power elements in the universe. If either sledge, snide, his alter ego heckle or Lord accord get all 10 energems, they'll use its powers to destroy the universe. an alien named Keeper entrusted the energems to Dinosaurs. millions of years laters, The energems were founded by Tyler, Shelby, Koda, Riley, Chase, Kendall, Sir Ivan, Prince Phillip and James which made them Power Rangers Dino Charge, protectors of the energems.

The universe is a pretty big place, even in the Power Rangers. The Rangers have 8 of them. They don't seem that powerful.
Edit. I had forgotten they have 9 gems and are just missing silver. Either way, I repeat, they don't seem that powerful.

for instance, in the classic Masters of the Universe toyline, Skeletor wants to take over Castle Grayskull so he can rule Planet Eternia and the universe. Dino Charge Rangers' enemies want to steal the energems so they can rule the universe.
