I completely agree in that i am tired of the over powered strong female lead. and not just that but when they have to under power a male character to make her seem more important. I think Moana, however, walks a very fine line between this and comes out on the better side of that line. I love that Moana isn't perfect. She has flaws. I love that after the end of 'How Far I'll go' she completely crashes that boat because well....she's never used one before. any other movie would have had her perfectly able to steer that thing without ever being on it. It takes her time to learn.

As for Maui: yea, he's supposed to be this amazing perfect god. So how dare Moana be better than him! But I didn't see it that way. I kinda liked this spin where they play him as being this imperfect character and it's like Moana meeting an idol and realizing maybe he's not this amazing person she thought. I thought the buddy comedy worked well and it opened Maui up for a nice redemption arch.

I could do without the feminist lines in here such as the 'I'm not a princess' nonsense but that's just the times now and almost all movies are going to have it, sadly. I don't think it detracts from the story and I think Moana is a great character. I think she actually earns the praise she gets from her people; she earned respect from her family and from Maui from the deeds she did and not just because she's a female.

I really don’t think anyone is saying that. Moana has to actually put forth effort and wasn’t always successful.

if you do not want to watch woketard movies then dont watch film from the last 5-10 year that are written by woketard for woketard. go watch film and tv from 1960s, 70s etc before woketard age

take for examples terminator 1. great film. if that film come out in woketard age then sarah connor would be future leader of resistance and she would be rescuing kyle reese.
