James Franco as Wiseau? Really?

That's such bad casting it's almost unbelievable. You're tearing me apart, Franco!

reply

No it's magnificent casting.

reply

I'd agree with you because Franco's schtick is getting really old but at the end of the day I couldn't give you another name to be Wisseau

reply

Howard Stern maybe? Or Will Ferrell?

Haven't you read the book? Tommy couldn't act for *beep* fifteen years ago, and he still can't according to his new "series". And "acting" consists of more than just being himself and saying words, it took him literally days to film individual scenes for his own movie.

I initially wanted Hugh Jackman to play Tommy Wiseau
With Ryan Gosling or Chris Pratt to play Greg Sestero
And either Emma Roberts or Rooney Mara to play Juliette Danielle and Michael Cera or Dane DeHaan to play Philip Haldiman

No sure about Dave Franco as Greg since he is too small but I only agree on James Franco as a good pick.

reply

I think casting either Johnny Depp or Crispin Glover as Wiseau would have been better.

Yeah, well, you, you're just a chicken! CHEEP CHEEP CHEEP CHEEP!

When you play the game of monopoly, you win or you go bankrupt. There is no middle ground.

You're tearing me apart, Freeze-well!

reply

I'm thinking Jared Leto because he's a chameleon of an actor. James Franco is very good though. Might work.

reply

I would've preferred Christopher Walken of Nicholas Cage as Wiseau...

Yeah, but I think it's a proof he's very egocentric, Reese Witherspoon was a producer on Gone Girl and David Fincher convinced her she was not right for the main role, she just accepted that

reply

I don't have a problem with James Franco playing Tommy--I can actually see it working quite well. Add some minor prosthetic/make-up, and they can pull off the look easily.
