I'm happy they're doing this but the thought occurred to me,

that maybe they should have done a miniseries instead? That way they could cover ALL the wacky craziness that happened behind the scenes? Flesh out all the real life people more?

Whatever you are, be a good one.

the book is super short, I mean you could probably squeeze out some more real life accounts from Greg but that would be pretty redundant. I feel like a feature length is a great amount of time to convey the story and get their points across

I wouldn't say the book is 'super short' at all. It actually covers a good deal of m aerial and time, and there's almost certainly going to be a lot of stuff cut out of story to make a film from it. That's just the nature of an adaptation. I don't think that it needs to a mini series, and I like the feature approach, but there will certainly be some good stuff missing.

Now I'm wondering when they're gonna release the damn thing.

Exactly! The movie wrapped almost exactly a year ago. Franco has like 8 films that he has directed in post production/completed. Busy guy, but out of all of his projects, this is the one that has the widest appeal. Still playing the waiting game I guess...

This story isn't for the small screen.

I think the book will condense quite nicely into feature length. There's a lot of detail and repetition that wouldn't work on screen. And I'm not sure how long a Tommy Wiseau impression is going to stay funny.
