Is Season 2 worth watching?

I just finished season 1 and loved it! I keep hearing/reading that season 2 was not great. Is that true? Let me know what your thoughts are...I got other shows on deck can't waste time :)

Loved season 2 & cannot wait for season 3.

I'm mid-way thru season 2 and it is definitely not as good. Too many plot lines going on with new characters that simply aren't needed

I watched all of S2, and agree it's not as good as S1. But one new character was introduced who was important, and I thought it was a great addition.

To the OP, as you can see, opinions are varied. Some hated S2 and loved S1, Others liked S2 better than S1. The only way to know how you'll feel about S2 is to watch it for yourself :)

i hope the important character you mentioned hasn't happened yet (as far as where i am) because the ones who've been added blow dog

reply

Sorry to say, yes, that character has already been introduced. You may change your mind later on, as the character is developed. Or you may not.

reply

ok, i'll finish it regardless. it was just not as good and my broad just said "do you think too many things are going on in season 2?"

reply

Season 2 is better than 1, IMO. Has more going on and that's a good thing.

I'm 4 episodes in and I can't stand it. First and foremost, Danny's son is an absolute douchebag. He's crass, annoying, unlikable and uninteresting. Everytime he's on screen I"m about to start fast forwarding. It's one thing to be a douche but if it gets to the point where it's hard to watch because he's not interesting, it's just bad writing. For four episodes it's just one conversation with him after another where he's just the biggest dick ever and it's not watchable, doesn't move the story along or anything. Boring as hell.

The characters make dumb decisions, just really dumb - all of them, that you don't care what happens to them.

Now Danny is a ghost like Dexter's dad. I don't even watch, I just fast forward. Just a really cliched plot device that doesn't move the story along. All we need now are a bunch of dream sequences to complete the shiat writing.

I'm barely hanging on. I'll give it a couple more episodes before I stop watching if it doesn't pick up.

It's all great and looking forward to the eventual arrival of the final season.

How much of your enjoyment of Season 1 was because of Danny/Mendolsohn? While the rest of the cast is very good I like Season 2 somewhat less with Mendolsohn not a central actor. He's around for flashbacks and "ghost" spots but they're a shell of what he brought to Season 1. However, if you're a fan of the vise being tightened on the Rayburns and watching them squirming then Season 2 delivers on that well for the most part. However, Season 1 just felt way more tense to me in so many ways and for whatever reason Season 2 didn't feel very tense despite the plot suggesting it should be.
