Tired premise

The "ancient evil that needs to be appeased to stave off catastrophe" thing has been done and done and done. Hell, it was the basic premise of Children of the Corn 30+ years ago.

Same for the concept of a small town hiding an evil secret from outsiders. How many hundreds of books and movies have used this tired device? Answer: Too many. So overused it is now a cliche.

Only thing about this movie that gave me a shock was seeing that the guy who plays Paul is Triphammer from Powers.
