good/bad story line

I've always liked a good TV show with a nice beginning and good ending with a good story line in between such like any TV show adapted from books... Sadly, "Scorpion" seems to lack everything but a good premise. That's why I like a TV show that has been already written for 2-3 seasons in advance. I know, nowadays, it's almost impossible .... Agreed anyone?
