a proper sequel - for adults - not too bad, I'd say

A few legit laughs - for those who saw cartoons in the 90's and played computer games of that era.
seems a bit similar to fables, where we see where toons ended up post their popularity (spoiler - Peter Pan did not fare well - I wish there was more of that) -
lots of cameos
the story is.... ok-ish, though I always begin to drift off during the mindless action sequences, and the last quarter was all action.

All in all, this was much better than the pikachu/sonic live action films - and I'd argue it's a move in the right direction by disney, which was a big surprise (I didn't think disney would allow jokes at the expense of so many of its properties) - though at the same time, one could argue that this film may not be appropriate for kids (lost revenue?), which may be why I may have actually enjoyed this one.

Indeed, fables is where it's at, where toons ended up whoring themselves or turning into drug addicts - as was the fate of many youth stars in the hollywood. Essentially, take any happy ending film of the old and give it a proper sequel where the reality absolutely shatters the not so realistic hollywood ending of the original and you have a potential blockbuster on your hands :)

All in all - I'd give it 6/10.

Fables, as in the game?

Update: Ah, nvm. Never knew there is a 'genre' of this. Different from parable.

I think there's a huge comic book series -
The wolf among us (Telltale game) is based on it.
