WEEKEND UPDATE with SETH MYERS
Weekend update has been my favorite part of SNL... but I don't want to see that every night foran hour... that is what it felt like tonight. We will see what the future brings.
shareThe monologue definitely sounded like Weekend Update, I think he needs to ditch the monologue and do a "Nightly News" bit instead. This would work, since conventional late-night monologues are mostly commentary on news stories anyway. Either that, or moonlight in night-clubs so he can learn how to do an actual stand-up session.
Ever since Fallon took over The Tonight Show, and I heard that Seth Myers was going to do The Late Show, I've been complaining that instead of late-night television, we now have Monday-thru-Saturday Night Live. So far, it does not seem that I was wrong.
I'm being a bit lenient with him, though, since this is the first time I've never seen the beginning of a new version of a late-night show. Even Fallon's show I didn't start watching until a year or so after it started.
