I am the biggest lover of slow Asian contemplative beautiful movies - and still find this flick horrendous.
It seems I have much higher standarts for beauty than most critics.
Yeah, your standards are probably just way higher than everyone else's. They're all eating out of the trash, but you know about the stale donuts that haven't even been thrown out yet!

Being a free showing (as if anyone would pay for this dreck) turned out to be a bad thing - because I couldn't ask for my money back, and because the whole theatre was packed with cheap smelly borderline homeless old people, so I couldn't leave 10 minutes in and save myself.
If someone likes beautiful Chinese period movies like me, kung fu movies, ANY movies - he should give this aberration a miss.
I should have known how bad and ugly it was gonna be the second I saw the first frame. It was a black and white square frame of two DONKEYS. From then on, it just gets worse.
Spend a bit less time trolling, and gradually you'll get back your lost two hours. Hope you use the time well.
