Am I supposed to feel bad for him??

I don't get why it's called the decent one? I mean as a child of course he wasn't an evil person. Himmler wound up being brainwashed and Hitlers #1 guy carrying out the "Final Solution" and was a real POS. I don't get what they are trying to prove? Was he decent for having a journal that may have shown he might have some kind of conscience ?

Pretty damn stupid name and reason to make this documentary . Really not good at all.

THERE'S NO ROOM IN MY CIRCUS TENT FOR YOU !!!!

Well, it may have something to do with who made it. Someone decided they wanted to show the world that NAZIs were not so evil.

NAZI sympathizers??

The film is completely anti- nazi!

It's a nod to Hannah Arendt's notion of "the banality of evil".

Don't lend your hand to raise no flag atop no ship of fools.

And the choice of words for the title is supposed to be a direct reference to HH:s own statement toward the end of the war: “We can have but one desire as to what is said about us: These German officers, these German soldiers – they were decent.”

It was ironic! At the end he writes a letter to his dtr, sating how she should be decent , and then later says that they were decent for 'having' to kill all these people yet not letting it affect them!
The film juxtaposes the banal letters with the horror of what he was doing.
He was obviously a psychopath.
