I was wondering that too. He seems like a nice person but taking any drug off the streets is never a good thing....I think that since she was meeting that French guy for dinner, she knew he wanted something sexual from her so she took the drug to lose her ambitions. That's just a thought but I could be wrong....
shareI think Romeo knew that Claire was going somewhere where she didn't feel comfortable. He probably knew that she was probably being forced to do things as part of the ballet company that she didn't really want to do. He offered her the pill saying you can be there but you don't have to "be there" meaning, the pill would probably numb her or dope her up to the point she wouldn't feel anything or remember.
