Stupid mistake
The characters were supposed to be driven crazy -mostly- because of dehidration, for the lack of potable water... except, there was plenty, all around in fact. They walked past MANY dripstones, some of which were providing, in fact, steady and generous drop flows, thick enough to fill a bottle in seconds. And no, it wouldn't be salty water like the one in the pools on the ground, but the product of condensation coming from the evaporation of part of that very salty water. Water from condensation, highly mineralized, sure... but edible nonetheless.
What puzzles me is how easy it would have been to just avoid those dripstones while filming. I'm afraid it must've been a matter of plain lazyness. Pity, but highly usual. Whatever...
