Subpar on every level

"The Black Rider: Revelation Road" is the third installment based on false Christian theology of a so-called pre-tribulation rapture. I have nothing against Christians making movies or starring in films, and expressing faith, etc, but when it is crap I will call the movie makers out on it. This has very little to do with the bible and it is little more than a wanna-be Chuck Norris 1980s movie with b-level effects and writing and for the most part subpar acting. David AR White is the Chuck Norris clone, which is funny because he is generally the wimpy kind of guy in most of his films, and he goes about the US helping people who are in need during the crisis left behind after the Christians vanished during the rapture a couple years previous. He travels in a '72 Roadrunner in an environment that is kind of a Mad Max movie set. James Denton is a towns mayor and he sends this cat on a quest to find a so-called "Shepherd" that the Guvment wants. In the back story Christians are smuggled into Canada because they are not desired in America and there is rationing of food and medical supplies everywhere. White battles cops, a bunch of red necks, and other bad guys. Also starring in this vehicle is Kevin Sorbo, and I cannot figure out if his accent is supposed to be Cajun or Australian, it goes back and forth between the two, and every movie needs a good looking chick and Hilty Bowen fits the bill here. This is a dumb movie that just wants to be an action film and they toss in a couple minutes of bible reading and that makes it Christian. If during the tribulation the most we have to worry about is eating less food, and staying away from the darn red necks then it is hardly what I would consider a bad tribulation. And Jesus returned early for THAT?? * 1/2 out of 4 stars. Pass on this. If you want to see better faith-based movies they are out there. "Grace Unplugged " is the best faith-based movie I have seen in the past two years. Check that out. It also stars Denton.

Why did you watch it?

i think Sorbo was going for a London accent. seriously.

also i concur about the films being based on false theology. why they persist in making more of these (and the Taken Away movies) despite the bible saying otherwise is beyond my understanding. god knows where they are getting it all from.

incidentally i'm also not a Christian (or a member of any other religion despite believing in God) and i watch these films as i enjoyed the first two.

I respect your point of view although I don't necessarily agree with it. I have noted in other posts that the Christian movies of today have learned to present the movie that is entertaining and not being too preachy since that would turn off anyone they hope to appeal to, Christian or non Christian.

Since it is not hard to see that it is a Christian produced movie, of course they are going to have a Christian agenda. I am a Christian and am very pleased about how the quality and acting in Christian movies has improved over the years. Like any written script, dramatic liberties will be taken but I think the main point is not lost. As one preacher in a church I attended before moving to my present location said about life after the Rapture, you don't want to be here.

I note in your opinion, you are not showing the hostility that a lot of people show toward Christian moves. Most of those with such already hostility were not going to like it anyway. I don't understand why they would waste their time watching them. We have more variety of entertainment today than ever before and I certainly will not watch a movie if I have pretty much made up my mind not to like it. I have better things to do with my time.

I was a bit bored during this one compared to the other two. I enjoyed the Road Warrior-like aspect of it, but didn't find the villains of this one very effective.

I agree with you, Amishelvis1. The events are so lifted from the Mad Max films that I'm surprised the Mad Max producers didn't sue. By the way, this film also features a bit of the Texas Chain Saw Massacre (the cannibal hillbilly family living in the middle of nowhere). I was waiting for a "Walking Dead" zombie to come stumbling along. If this was done by a Christian production company, I think the producers forgot one of the 10 Commandments. "Thou shall not steal."
