Hard to get passed the unlikable main character ...

... extremely unlikable character, though I know she's supose to be. But you do come to care about her towards the end. Almost turned it off, but glad I made through to the end. Good movie.

I have to agree. Even by the end, she is still a b!tch. Damn girl, give your mom a hug. Hell, she still couldn't even tell Eugene thank you for the first aid kit.

Whose do you think it was? lol

reply

if she wasn't the kickass bitch she was it would have been just another boreing slasher flick.i loved her.good popcorn flick with even a few lol moments.

reply

You can be kickass without being an unlikeable kunt.

reply

"past"

Unless you meant it was hard for her to be passed to you, in which case probably true.

reply

Did not care for her at all. Did they mention why she went off the rails? I may have missed it.

Her annoying use of *beep* and her wailing through the whole thing made it extremely difficult to create any atmosphere of creepiness.

Her voice was so high pitched and whiny. They were trying to have her come off bad ass but all she appeared to be was a spoiled, overgrown, teenager in her 20's.

It is completely understandable why nobody took her seriously. I too liked her at the end though.

reply

Perhaps unlikeable but realistic - characters do not always have to be squeaky clean to be the hero in a film. She had issues but clearly still cared about people, including her mother.

reply

Yes, realistic. And you do come to care about her. But a film is suppose to grab you within the first 10 minutes or it risks loosing the audience. I believe I read that in some screenwriting book. They really pushed it here. Though a lot of films do, nowadays.

reply

I thought she was amazing and super fun to watch! anyway I like nasty characters that evolve through the film as she did.

reply

did she evolve though? she still seemed like a jerk at the end screaming out Eugene's name.

Really the only redeeming moment I saw for her in the whole movie is when she agreed to help her step-dad glue that thing (which SHE broke) back down.

reply

When she was cleaning the house I saw some humility.

reply

I didn't care for Kylie at first either but after she kicked Amos's butt when he first broke into their house, I started to change my opinion about her. She was tough. I liked that about her!
