incredibly misogynistic

So, was anyone here bothered by the copius amount of footage devoted to demeaning and brutalizing women in the movie? It was way more gratuitous than could possibly be necessary to the story (such as it is).

In fact, the "plot" seemed more like a series of excuses to indulge in violence against females than for Seagal's fighting.

I found it reprehensible.

I agree I had to skip over most of those scenes. It would have worked better and had more emotional impact to show more of the actress' pain in recounting the events and the continued pain, fear it was causing her than so much of the needless brutality. Between that and all the creepy closeups of a rough looking Seagal it took me several tries before I was able to finish this thing.
