American release?

I'm curious to see this. Any word on if/when this will be available (legally) for American audiences?

From Up On Poppy Hill English dub producer Geoffrey Wexler's LinkedIn profile lists himself as the English-language dub and subtitle producer for the series, although no Western release or English dub have been officially announced.

Wish I could say for certian though honestly I'm afraid of what Disney (if Disney got it anyway) would do with this series. Yes while Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki movies have long held special protection against heavily modifying or editing this series may not enjoy the same protection.

No doubt they would want to try and put it on TV but they'd likely feel the need to dumb it down for kids.

While this show isn't a deep complicated work nor a violent one, it certainly does things you would never see in an American cartoon. The second episode is a good example as it has little dialogue even Ronja only utters a few lines at a time.
