...because it's hard to say, "I don't understand this movie." and seem like you have anything intelligent to say.

Right?

Love is like breathing. You have to take some in and let it out to live.

So basically you are saying that he didn't like the movie because he's too stupid to understand it. That's kind of leap to me. I understood it and while I admit I enjoyed it somewhat, I don't consider it all that good.

If you only think it's "not that good," then are you only "not that smart," rather than a full-on idiot?

The movie has a lot to offer if you're prepared to think and read between the lines.

THANKS!!1!!

IF I KNOW IDIOTS HATE THIS MOVIE,
IT MIGHT BE A MOVIE I MIT LIKE

reply

"I didn't like it" does not equal "I didn't understand it." The only people who think it does are pretentious egotists.

EMBERS is more 'poem' than 'prose'.

This film is designed to create an emotional sensation rather than a standard depiction of plot and character development.

Free to those that can afford it, very expensive to those that cannot

Here's a little trick for life, if you choose to learn it.

When you come in and make harsh definitive statements like "absolute garbage reviews are fake!!!" you sound like someone who was too stupid to understand the movie. Not because you disliked the film, but because you seem unable to explain why you don't like it.

If you strongly dislike a film and you don't want everyone on the planet to think you're dumb as a stump, give reasons. You could say something like:

"While the production values and acting were excellent, there were some fatal flaws in this film. Inconsistency in the implied rules for memory loss continually drew me out of the film. For example, characters remember figures of speech and axioms like "it's always weird when you say your own name" but are unable to remember their names. A little structure defining how this spotty memory loss worked would have made it seem less contrived. Also, while story-telling doesn't always require a nice, pat ending, the complete lack of one here (or even a recognizable story arc for each of the characters) was like a run-on sentence ending in a conjunction. One is left not only with a feeling of "what?" but also of "why?" The movie does evoke certain emotions, but would have benefited from some heavy-handed rewrites. As it stands, it feels more like a vanity piece than the thoughtful indie it strove to be."

See how easy?

There's an irony in the fact that people who don't understand things find those things "stupid" or "garbage" or "worst ever," but it seems ubiquitous. Thus, every time you use those terms, people just assume you were too stupid to understand the film. If you want to fool people into believing you're not an idiot, avoid it.

Before you whip out those indignant exclamation points, try to demonstrate that you don't eat toilet paper.

You're welcome.

Movies are IQ tests; the IMDB boards are how people broadcast their score.

I liked the movie but I guess your opinion is the only one that matters.
