Despite its flaws the movie doesn't patronise the viewers (SPOILERS)

SPOILERS.

This is a clever courtroom drama, and had a great twist that i didn't see coming, but there's some things that could have been changed and edited. First, did they have to have a rape scene?! We knew the husband was horrible already, couldn't they have just implied it?! Second, Renee Zellwegger wasn't very good in this, she was okay, but iv'e seen her act better in other movies example "White Oleander" she was great in that and gave a very believable performance, but in The Whole Truth her acting skills are a bit stale, man.

I appreciate that they didn't patronise us as viewers, so many movies show every detail as though the audience is thick, but in this film they only give strong implications.

I actually thought they did show too much. They really didnt have to actually show what really happened. Alot of it could have been implied.
But i dont care, because im actually the tyoe that likes seeing, ... i hate having to assume or guess.
