How does this show get nominated and win so many awards?

The show itself is not good. Does it only get awards because trans people are the "in" thing right now?

It's the new trend, for sure... another way to destroy Western civilization.

I'm with Bosicashley, it is a great show. If you are afraid of the subject matter, I could see why you might not like it. If you appreciate good writing, acting, directing, editing, cinematography, and open to the way other people live, then this show is for you.

It's an amazing show, and deserves more awards than it gets. It should have won best comedy series over Veep at the Emmys, and Judith Light absolutely deserves to win for season 3.

The show is good, but not great. I'm no prude, but the gratuitous language is a turn-off for me, as is some of the sex.
I totally support trans people, but the writing doesn't improve scenes that are clearly being used for shock value alone.
Just last night, I watched an episode where Sarah is standing outside the bathroom door, guiding her child through
constipation. The scene was brief, but gross and pointless.

What really amuses me about this show is that it's really just another "Knots Landing." The hopping around to different
characters and their sex lives is the stuff of nighttime soaps. So, yes, the series is overrated. It is also a series
riddled with self-importance. I also find many of the navel-gazing characters to be very unlikable (Sarah being the
worst offender).

Jeffrey T is amazing, as is the always great Cherry Jones. But other actors are simply competent.

On balance, an intriguing, but flawed show.
