Yes definitely. The show got me into the books, which are amazing. As a cop myself, Connelly really nails the dark reality of police work. The procedurals, the politics, the stress. It is very apparent that Connelly worked closely with real police during his prior career as a crime reporter.

He definitely nails it - I keep watching other cop shows where they solve a crime/murder every week and wonder
"When do they get to do the paperwork?"
"Where is IA?"
"What kind of emotional toll is all this carnage doing to these characters?"
"What about their families?"

Connelly and the Bosch team nail it.

A few years ago, if I had asked "bingeworthy or not" about "Game of Thrones", about six billion people would have exclaimed "yes!". Yet it turns out that I find "Game of Thrones" unwatchable, let alone bingeworthy. What others think doesn't mean anything. Just watch the show and decide for yourself.

Season 1-2: really good
Season 3: meh
Season 4: great, but not quite on par with the first two seasons
Season 5: pretty good, fast paced, hard to follow at times
Season 6: meh, worst season yet.

Hoping for a return to the quality of the first couple seasons, or at least season 4, for the final season.

That's the only good thing about the show. It is so slow that if I could not have watched it all at once I probably would not have watched it. Only now a lot of these series are being drawn out weekly that make them so much less interesting to watch.

Did you watch the preview to the new upcoming season? There is a funny reference to Idris Elba's character Stringer Bell made by Jamie Hector who played Bosch's sidekick Jerry Edgar, but also played Marlo Stansfield in "The Wire".

reply

It’s no Battlestar Galactica. It has a slow burn pace almost every ep I have seen.
