Why did he throw his hat in the trash when it was raining outside? And also why is Lance Reddick playing the exact same character he played in The Wire?

Thanks for clearing that up. I got past it and now I'm 5 episodes in. Weird seeing Marlo from The Wire playing a cop. He's doing a good job though.

I'm half way through season 2 now. Wow, this show is good. I'm glad I stuck with it.

2. Totally the same. Lance Reddick plays the stern police captain/lieutenant/chief in everything he's ever been in. I love the guy but he has zero range.

First, he has played other kinds of roles, altho he is certainly known for this sort.

Second, it's not so much that he lacks range, but rather a simple case of type-casting. Not uncommon in movies and tv.

Lance Reddick is certainly one of the most typecast actors working today. Luckily for him nobody plays a Lance Reddick like Lance Reddick.

No range? A few years ago I saw him in New York in a revival of "The Music Man". You shoulda seen that dude sing and dance!

Don't forget Fringe. This is pretty much all he does.

Lance Reddick was in John Wick and he wasn't playing a cop.
