Never read the novels and am wondering what decade is this show set in? Is it the mid - 90's?
shareThe series of novels started in 1992. They were and continue to be set in the present time. Although Season One was adapted from some of the earlier books, it looks to me as if it has been updated to the current, er, current (Bosch is described as a veteran of the 1991 Gulf War; in the books he's a Vietnam vet).
shareCheers. I was a bit confused by the type of car he drives, the clothing and the old style cell phone. Have to say, the show is a bit Meh so far (am only 6 episodes in). I heard it gets better?
