Sure, I'd have bet on her in a one-to-one against Thanos, but I'd still root for Thanos. Thanos only wanted to destroy HALF of everything!

His plan would make it that much easier for her to conquer more worlds
Good odds she'd pour him a drink and make a cheerful alliance, because he'd be doing half her job for her.

I'm not a comic book reader (any more) so I had to learn about Thanos from Wikipedia, but wasn't his plan to impress "Lady Death" or some such?
So Thanos toasting w/ Help would play right into that plot line.
I'm not a comic reader either, but since there's been about 60 years of Thor comics... maybe they used that plot at some point.
