am i'm the only one that feels sorry for Thor in this movie? he lost everything.

Thor lost pretty much everything in this movie. his hammer, his long hair, his eye and his home: Asgard.

I feel so sorry for Thor. he lost everything he loved. :(

It is his fault for turning into a goofball during the movie

reply

what do you mean his fault?

reply

Bet you ten bucks he gets a new hammer, a new home, and a new hairdo in "Infinity Wars"!

reply

I think he will get some of that in Infinity Wars.

reply

You bet I did. Despite all the laughs, the movie for certain took a dark turn for our hero. Thor took a beating down (literally and figuratively) like we probably haven’t seen any of the main Avengers take a beating before. He lost the things he cared about the most (including his father) and was essentially stripped of EVERYTHING that previously made him a god. And it all happens so fast, he doesn’t have time to take it all in.

Some can slam this movie as nothing but a mindless action comedy all they want, but as far as I’m concerned the movie manages to pack a punch.

reply

Good point, despite the laughs, it really did include a "coming of age" aspect, where Thor accepts his responsibility as Asgard's leader.

reply

And his father and sister too.

reply

he doesn't care about his sister because she is evil and she tried to kill him. but he cares about his dad.

reply

Yes and he lost his father as well. However, he did get his brother back. I think Loki’s character arc has come full circle so I’m seriously hoping that they don’t make Loki take 100 steps backward in Infinity War and betray Thor again. Loki’s the only thing he has left right now, besides his Asgardian people who look like are all killed in the next movie. As much comedy as there was in Ragnarok, the movie really was heartbreaking. ☹️

reply

Loki and half of his Asgardian people are killed in Infinity War.

reply

Well yeah, I know that now, lol.

And the poor guy cried like a girl when he got his haircut (did no care that much about his daddy evaporating)

But no reason to feel sorry for this Thor, in the original myth of Ragnarök he had a epic, brutal fight with the Midgard serpent and won, but then bled out from his wounds incurred - they all died actually...

...gloomy, doomy Twilight of the Gods, ....this film was more like Thor: Fragglerock: joke dispenser of the Marvel gods.
