This is an epic day for all of us.
This is the 17th marvel movie and the third Thor movie. And it got beat by a sequel that was made 22 years after the first! That is nothing to be proud of Russ.
shareI wouldn't agree with you. If anything 17 movies means people might be fed up with (Marvel's) comic book flicks, whereas titles like Jumanji are something new. True they're reboots but the original was 22 years ago like you said. The same thing worked in favor for the Jurassic World, after a considerable amount of time since the last sequel, came a reboot that earned big. But honestly neither Jumanji and the JW in particular are that good to begin with, sure they're enjoyable like the Thor3, but with lots of flaws.
You can say what you want about Marvel but they constantly deliver money-wise. All three of their 2017's titles earned more than 800M and they were in the TOP10.
I just like to point out fun facts to people. But who would have thought Jumanji would be knocking on the $900 million dollar door? Crazy!?

I don't have a 4k player yet but I do have a 4k TV finally.
shareMy Samsung 4K 3D quit working about 6 months ago. Really ticked as it was just 1 year old and no longer plays 3D media. Not like I play a lot of those anyway.
It's not cost effective to fix so I have to decide about purchasing another JUST to play 3D disks. Oh well. I bought JL in 4K but not 3D.

If Marvel Fans should be SAD because Jumanji topped Thor 3....even though The MCU has 6 Films that Topped Jumanji and Is currently the Highest grossing film franchise of all time...Then The other Fanbases Must be on Suicide Watch because they likely have NO films that topped Jumanji or 1 or 2 at best(again DCEU fans have it the worst given the have NONE and thier box office is Plummeting)
