Why does Thor get ... [spoilers]?

Why does Thor get subdued when electrocuted on Sakaar? He's the god of thunder and channels lightning, so why should a little shock in his neck be an effective way to capture and subdue him?

reply

I don't think it was a taser in the traditional sense. Considering his convulsions and how veiny he got, it looked like it was affecting his nervous system in some way.

reply

I don't know why, but that's what made it funny.

One of this movie's flaws is using that running gag a million times.

reply

I can only think of it happening four times and only one of those times was used as a gag. The first was when he was initially captured, the second was when he was trying to escape his bonds while talking to Grandmaster, the third was a gag when Valkyrie zapped him while he was chatting her up, and the fourth was to end the fight with Hulk.

reply

It happened two more times and it was old by the second time.
