Plot hole? Zombie virus transmission

Maybe somewhere,someone has already addressed this but if so I can't find it. I am only on season 2 episode 6. But the reason that Liv wouldn't have sex with major is because it might make him a zombie (and as far as I know at this moment that's possible because of Blaine turning the older woman from season 1 by sleeping with her.) But all these other zombies that major has been checking out lead normal lives most weren't married but a couple were,and maybe their spouses know and deal with it but what about Suzuki's (dead police cheif)widow? She vrought detective babinaeux the brains because she couldn't "make out anything" from it. It's implied he has been a zombie for the last few months. We are supposed to believe they didn't have sex? Or at least bring it up. Maybe I'm over thinking it but just wanted someone else's thoughts/opinion on it. Thanks in advance!
