Well, that was a big waste

The money spent on this propaganda hoping to pave the way for a Hillary Clinton presidency has gone totally down the drain. Imagine the despair on the producers and cast's faces when their two year infomercial turned out to be a total bust and money burn. They would have been better showing reruns of the Apprentice or animated version of The Donald instead.

Oh, I'd say it's money well spent. Now that this dysfunctional country has elected Trump for president, everyone--from TV shows to each every individual in the U.S.--who stands against hate and bigotry is fighting a real war. It's not just a crazy possibility anymore. A large minority (Trump didn't win the popular vote, just the electoral) chose a man who represents hatred, scapegoating and misogyny.

Shows like Madam Secretary are more important than ever now. And so are the people who hold fast to (some) of what this country stands for, like the Bill of Rights. Freedom of Religion was shown quite nicely in this last episode, along with the way Trump supporters will attack anyone who's identified as "Other" as Matt was.

Aw, did you get butt-hurt by the election? All this money and effort by the lib Hollywood establishment, including this Dhue and the Geena Davis one, to put their royal b***h on the throne, only to lose to ...The Donald! Bwahaha, sad as heck for you but a win the "dysfunctional" country where stuff like jobs and respect matter more than pushing BS social causes. And the popular vote argument, that's still debatable since all the votes in California haven't been counted and even so, 3 million were from undocumented aliens that shouldn't have legally voted in the first place so the Donald wins handily if you take out that blatant corruption. Keep pushing your fight for perverted social causes and expect to fail again in four years if you do, by Americans who would rather have affordable insurance than allowing some confused man pee in the woman's bathroom

A question and a request, kws:

If you're so opposed to everything this show is about, why are you still watching it?

Please, stay on this board. I want to check in with you it two years. Because by then, you'll have probably realized that Trump doesn't give a sh*t about you, your problems, the poor and jobless who elected him or anyone but himself and his rich friends. So tell me how your life's going if you end up without a job, healthcare, and all those Federal Assistance programs that might have fed you or your neighbors, or kept a roof over your heads.

So sure, folks who voted for Trump cared about jobs--the problems is, he doesn't. As for respect? (I really can't believe you used that word; do you even know what it means?) I guess death threats to Muslims, swastikas spray painted on Jewish and African American homes, bullying children and groping women is someone's idea of respect. But they'd better stay clear of me.

Sore losers!! Oh! Pity! I'm just so thankful to not have that phone B parading as the first female president, when she is not really female is she! Amen for change!

reply

Oh well, we all know who will be the next president of the usa; Lisa Simpson (and I for one, can't wait for it).

reply

Are all Trump voters bullies? Every place I see them online, they are mean and sarcastic.

reply

"Dysfunctional country" just b/c we didn't elect Hillary Clinton president? What colossal nonsense. On the contrary, I'd say we're functioning quite well to avoid such a catastrophe as that would've been. If you don't like our Constitution, why don't you amend it instead of complaining about it?

reply

Yeah, the propaganda of this show is a joke... Thank goodness we are not getting Madam President!!!

reply

Russian trolls even on the IMDB message boards.....who woulda thunk it?

reply

Haha ... Russian Troll... Hahah Pathetic leftists...

If you feel this was a way for Hillary to get into the white house then you are a fool. It's a TV show! Might need to say that again. It's a TV show. However, if you're a trump follower then you maybe you feel it's necessary for the next president to be associated with a reality show. Oh wait, this is a made up drama. Must say it again, a TV show!!! Never have I ever seen someone so unqualified to be the POTUS. I hope the balance of powers plays out in this nightmare because he truly has no idea what he is getting himself into. He knows nothing about foreign policy, he's not worldly, he's uneducated (unbeknownst to him) and the littlest thing has him running for twitter to voice his whining. I am embarrassed already when a foreign leader criticizes his decision...is he really going to go to Twitter to dispute it? Grow a pair, learn the foreign relations, and yes please do get a briefing everyday for the next 4 years. You have no idea what is coming your way!!

I really see no similarities between Tea Leoni's "Madam Secretary" character and Hillary Clinton. The TV character is nothing at all like Ms. Clinton, and (I imagine) Hillary's personal home and family life is nothing at all like the TV character's personal family home life. I can't imagine Hillary acting anything like Elizabeth McCord.

If people are saying the TV character is supposed to be Hillary simply because both are female Secretaries of State, then you might as well say Tea Leoni's character is supposed to be Madeleine Albright. Leoni's character has as much in common with Albright as she does with Hillary.

Leoni's TV character in fact has MORE in common with Madeleine Albright as she does Ms. Clinton.

In fact, Madeleine Albright's autobiography (written long before the TV show) is titled "Madam Secretary". Plus, madeleine Albright has appeared as herself on the TV show -- harkening to the similarities between Leoni's character and Albright.

So no, Leoni's character is not supposed to be Hillary Clinton. Sure, they are both women, and that is something they have in common, but Madeleine Albright is also a woman.

And as has been pointed out, Elizabeth McCord's personal home life is nothing at all like what Ms. Clinton's personal life seems to be. Beyond both being women, I see no other similarities with Hillary Clinton.
