Are the actors' salaries that low...

...that they just don't even bother to be good? I mean look at Elisha Cuthbert. I was always a huge fan of her and I always adored the way she acted in her films/shows. Okay, I get it, it is a sitcom so the acting is usually not as good, but look at Happy Endings (Cuthbert had one of the leading roles). I think it was just much better. The only reason for an actress like Elisha could be the money. Because what else could cause that strangely-unusaul decrease in her acting talent..?

Not sure how it can be money for her when she married to a toronto maple leaf player.

That's not what I meant. What I mean is, they must be paying the cast so bad that they just can't be bother to try hard enough. I am not saying that Elisha does't have money, I'm saying that it's kind of "you get what you have paid for". They pay them low salaries, so their acting is bad.

I see a woman desperately trying to elevate crappy material. She can only do so much with terrible writing...

That's a good point as well..

Yeah, I hate to be so crass, but this show is just one big turd. This is one of the most predictable, uninteresting and downright bad shows that NBC has had. I'm not even sure Whitney was as bad as this. I don't know why it is that there are so many talented, funny comedians in the world yet so many sitcoms end up being written by hacks who think it's clever to have a lesbian say that her cat's name was Ellen. That said, the actors in this show really don't appear to be trying that hard. Cuthbert seems awkward and lost a lot in this show.

Sometimes you are only as good as those around you...

reply

sometimes it more the writing than the acting all three are pretty good actors but if the writing isn't good then it won't be one long
