I don't understand the title
why is it called RACE, i don't get it?
It's a double meaning. He races for a living and he is discriminated against for what race he is.
shareIt's a double entendre, but I don't find it "deep" or "witty."
IT's not even original to parallel ethnic race with racing. In the TV movie Mr. & Mrs. Loving, about the interracial couple behind the landmark supreme court case to make interracial marriages legal, the husband was a race car driver at the same time the couple was fighting racial prejudice. That was done to parallel to concepts of race. There was a scene were his racing in a car allowed them to escape being arrested for race mixing. That was more clever as you have to interpret it. Here, they just put it so obviously in the title. Yeah.. we get it.
I wish it had just been named OWENS, since Jesse was so much more than a token of race.
I actually think the title will repulse some people who are just tired of the blatant focus on race.

I saw the movie yesterday....saw a bunch of trailers since I go to movies all the time...
I just realized the double meaning a day after I saw the movie.
I thought it was just "RACE" meaning he is running a race at the Olympics.
50 year old white guy here, just not thinking of race, racist, racism, but wanted to see Jesse Owens for his racing abilities.
I used to run a little myself...did the 100 in under 14 and I think 17' long jump.
My favorite to watch was the triple jump, but I don't know when they started doing that.
Cause they couldn't call it "Looky that Ni**er Boy Run!"
Vote Hillary! Your last social experiment only cost you 8 years.
goodbye.
Perhaps the OP just wants to reach out for some sense of community.
