The Coach

How much input does an athletics coach have? Is it mainly motivation? The only thing I noticed the coach Larry Snyder actually did besides motivating was correcting Owens technique when he starts a race. What else could he have done to improve Owen who was naturally fast anyway? I mean, he had Owens for 28 months before the Olympics.

To make him better than he already was. Like you said, work on posture, the stride, bettering fundamentals

That's why he was asking Jesse if he would still work even if he was a natural. One small slip can get you behind

And that whole thing about blocking people out? That's a real thing, you have to learn to tune people out when you do your own thing, if you can't do that, you will have a tough time

Motivation and making them a better version of them themselves. Just because you are a natural athlete, doesn't mean you are the best
