Nomad?

So Steve's not Captain America any more, and some fans have speculated that he might take on the identity of Nomad. For those who don't know, in the comics Nomad was a name that Steve Rogers took on after he gave up the Captain America identity.

Personally I don't think it'll happen, since Steve became Nomad after losing his faith in his county - something we weren't really shown in Civil War. What are your thoughts?

I think he'll just be Steve Rogers.

Super-Identities aren't really important to the characters within the MCU. It's mostly just so the viewers know what to call them.

After all, Iron Man and Hulk were named by the press, Cap was named by the USO, and Black Widow and Hawkeye got code names through their respective spy organizations. Falcon got his name from the military hardware he uses, Black Panther is the name of his country's traditional guardian/king, and Scott was looking for a way NOT to be called Ant-Man.

And Thor, is, of course, actually named Thor.

That's true. Daredevil was also named by the press and Jessica Jones was, well, never Jewel in the first place.

I guess it's quite hard to realistically give characters superhero names without narration.

I would love to see Namor in the MCU! He has so many connections to so many characters, and can be used as both an ally and villain if they need him to. I'd rather Steve adopt the black 'Captain' uniform, and get a new shield from Panther.

I think the most fun thing to do would be set up a War of Kingdoms type scenario with Namor leading Atlantis against Black Panther and Wakanda. Perhaps pull Black Bolt and the Inhumans into the frey later as well. Wungadore, High Evolutionary, etc. Bring the Earth-bound Fantasy stuff into the MCU would be so tight. Black Knight and Hercules...

Yes. He's still enhanced. And the Accords affect all enhanced, not just the Avengers. If he helps people outside the Accords, he's breaking them.

Marvel Wikia:

The Accords determine the deployment) law enforcement of enhanced individuals, particularly the Avengers, but including all enhanced individuals.

If someone watching him, he has super strength, which is going to be visually seen. And he won't stop using that. When you're used to fighting, your not going to stop a certain thing just to conceal your identity. He won't be able to help himself. The way he fights, it will be noticed that he's enhanced.

Plus, I just don't see him putting on a new costume. I remember him questioning his costume to Coulsin after he came out of the ice. He only wore it then because the costume represented something that he felt people needed. A new costume wouldn't.

Not that it matters, but they did joke about Steve becoming Nomad on the commentary.

In the kingdom of the blind, you're the village idiot.

Yeah, they were laughing about the cut to the navel part of the suit and getting it fitted for Chris. That was funny.

I think for now he'll just be Steve Rogers, nothing else. The MCU doesn't have masked superheroes in the sense that people don't know who they are. Everyone already knows that Steve Rogers is Captain America. Now that he's no longer that, he'll simply be Steve.

When the government tried to make him an agent of theirs again in the comic, he refuses to sign up and is replaced. He goes out on his own and is known as simply "The Captain".
