Who wants an R rated MCU film?

It would be more violent than a typical MCU film
It would be darker
It would have sex
But
It would have a good story, and have well developed characters, like a regular MCU film
And let's not forget the humor
And it would be longer than a regular MCU film.
But, still, an R rated, character driven, MCU movie.
Who's with me?

You said it yourself pal, we're the guardians of the galaxy!

reply

Nah. We've got the shows for more "R" material.

I see no need for an R-rated MCU movie.

reply

Yes, starring your mom so I can see her on all-fours taking it hard up the pooper.

reply

Given the mindset these days, all an "R" Rating would give us is sex and blood. Not anything meaningful.

reply

No.

Just watch the Netflix series.

There will never be an R rated MCU movie. Their brand is family friendly entertainment. Making R rated movies in the MCU would just cause people to second guess as to if any particular movie is appropriate for their family. In other words, it would destroy the brand they worked so hard to cultivate.

reply

The franchise doesn't need it on the big screen.

And it's not hard to make a dark PG13 movie.

Why would being R-rated make it longer, by the way? They've already brushed up against 150 minutes with three films.

If your theater is a space safe from ideas and opinions, you're doing theater wrong.
