Rani's acting is over-rated in this film.

Anyone else think that Rani didn't really act that well. It was actually the script and direction that saved the film.

Preity or Priyanka would have been much better choices.

She may be over-rated a bit......but i hope your view was not overshadowed by images of Priety and priyanka in a cop uniform..I mean ,Rani's character was realistic as her acting and her body language....Priyanka Chopra is my girl ..but no....it would have been a disaster casting ......Look how she is so well casted in Mary Kom.Loved the trailer

I think Rani was perfect in this role. Priyanka could've been a good choice or not, I can't say but Preity Zinta: definitely not.

Moreover now a days we as an audience are so used to seeing mediocre acting (Katrina, Sonam etc) in movies that maybe we find good acting (like Rani's in this movie) to be over rated.

I guess, I'll have you agree with you on most part. However; please don't even count Sonam Kapoor as an actor :-D... I couldn't tolerate ANY FILM that she is a part of

Read reviews for Sonams past films like Delhi 6 or I hate Love stories or Aisha for that matter... She always have been awarded nice reviews ... Just coz she was associated with a few horrible films, people blame her... people hate her because of interviews...

Well, to respond that, personally I don't like her much. I watched her films. Delhi 6, Mausam, Bewakoofiyaan, I Hate Luv Storys. (Oke, that's all maybe). OH THAT BMB? I forgot she was part of the movie.

I can't say that she can't act. Surely she could. But she wasn't a type of actor that could win viewers hart. I love her few characters from movie. But as mentioned, Delhi-6 is a total good because of the director, I guess. Both Abhi and her did a great job.

Rani Sucks , poor casting ,i mean how come these films keep happening again and again . the biggest letdown was the Title ,MARDAANI , you keep talking about women empowerment yet you people like to see them like a man . Sucks . it was a really poor effort . Absolute trash.

I gotta agree with you, her acting is overrated. Before watching the movie my brother praised the movie a lot and specially Rani's acting. Probably it was the slightly higher expectation that I didn't find her acting brilliant but overall she did a fine job. She could do better. She was keeping straight face in different circumstances.

Rani was not supposed to be casted for the role. Rani running and chasing bike rider, doing action stunts, and kicking down criminals will never look good. I like Rani's acting for dramatic movies - but I hate to see her in action movies. There was a joke - she is a football!

Preity is already known for her daring image, so yes, I think she would have been great.

I think that you are all being overly critical. Not one of you could have done this role better. You think by tearing apart your films and the actors that you sound more intelligent. I don't agree. Instead of being so critical, why don't you just sit back and ENJOY the films? You aren't the casting director and even they don't have total control over who is cast in a film.
