Constantine is coming to The CW as an animated series

Good news Hellblazer fans!

The CW has just announced it has picked up Constantine as an animated series for CW Seed during its Television Critics Association panel.

The show will feature Matt Ryan, who starred as the title character in the fan favorite but short-lived NBC show.

Fans can expect the episodes to be 10 minute in length similar to the Vixen series that ran on CW Seed. Right now, episode count is expected to be either five or six. The show, like Vixen, will exist in the Arrow-verse which consists of Arrow, Flash, Legends Of Tomorrow & Supergirl.

This is exciting news, hopefully we will see more of Constantine in the Arrowverse, I really felt he belonged there when he appeared in Arrow.

CW doesn't have plans to use him in live action yet, but the chances are very high that it could be a reality, now that he is a part of the CW.

Great to hear. Having Constantine with Matt Ryan back in some form is certainly welcome news. I presume this opens the door for Constantine to eventually have more guest appearances in the CW universe. I doubt Matt will be back to do Constantine full time again since he now got a gig with a UK TV show, Halcyon. But doing voice overs for the Constantine animated series and perhaps occasional live action guest appearances in the CW universe would be somewhat satisfying to us fans.

Will this continue the story from the end of the live action show?

That would be great since the show ended on a cliffhanger.

I'm happy and excited that Constantine is getting another chance even if it's a cartoon. Glad that Matt Ryan is returning as the main character.
