Season 2 robbed at The Emmys!

If this had been any other year "American Crime" would have been a shoo in for best miniseries!

I enjoyed "People vs OJ" as much as anyone but I never once forgot I was watching Travolta, Schwimmer. Paulson and Gooding playing characters. They did a fine job but in a "wow, David Schwimmer is killing it as Rob Kardashian!" kind of way.

When you can take powerhouse actors like Huffman, King, Taylor and Hutton and make me forget they aren't character actors but real people involved in a story with real stakes it really says something. I found myself lost in each and every one of their performances. Add to that Joey Pollari's Eric and Connor Jessop's amazing Taylor! Both young actors were explosive and frightening, vulnerable and heartbreaking. One couldn't turn his emotions off while the other couldn't turn them on and it was riveting and unlike anything I've ever seen on network TV.

The Emmy win would have brought more eyeballs to this gem and gotten more conversations started about rape, gender, race, sexuality, mental health, privilege, drugs, bullying, guns, the list goes on.

The idea that the show was nominated with several acting nods, plus King's win that will help. The difference between the two shows though is actors playing well known people vs people we don't know(although we all probably know people like them). So it's much easier to see them as those characters w/out our preconceived notions.

Even more reason it should have won The Emmy in my opinion! We all know the OJ story so that show didn't have to work nearly as hard as this one to move a story along. The actors, who again, did a great job in Ppl vs OJ had reference points and lots of footage of the characters they would be playing.

"American Crime" created a story with more layers than "American Crime Story" which is saying something. And network TV should be rewarded for taking these kinds of risks! I'm glad King won but she won last year as well and the ratings weren't great for season 2. If the show had won Best Miniseries though it would have been a good nudge for Network TV to continue to make this kind of show instead of the "safe" stuff they churn out 85% of the time. "American Crime" needed it more than any of the other Mini's is I guess what bugs me.

Fargo should have won, and it was completely shut out. King even stole the emmy from Jean Smart. Fargo was the best tv show the last 12 months by far

Fargo is a great show. A lot of people agree it should win all the awards.

I didn't care at all about the OJ Simpson show. The publicity circus for the show was so contrived. I never planned to watch it , and I didn't.

I do whatever I can think of to make others aware of American Crime, especially on Facebook. I believe in the show so much.

Hutton and Huffman should have won for Season 1. King deserved it more for Season 2 than 1, so good she won.
