How do they have tape of people being sad that they lost? They must have filmed all 4 people pretending they lost so they had tape for the final show.

Just like Big Brother. They film a "contingency" for each outcome.
The parts I like (which no one ever thinks about) are the reflections from the player while the actual competition is happening. They must be heavily coached or edited to not let on what happened, during the "reflections".
