Some thoughts on the finale

1: Seems America still has a solid love for loyalty. Frank choosing to save Sam because he felt loyalty to her paid of HUGELY for him.

2: JR is a dipstick. For a guy who kept talking about strategy, he sure isn't any good at it. The best move he could have made was to save Lauren, not Jeffrey. Saving the guy everyone hates? Dumb. And pulling that lame ass crap about how he was just honoring their deal, after he admitted it was all strategy (i.e., thinking he could beat Jeffrey and not Lauren) was just the icing on the cake. He's as much a manipulative little liar as Jeffrey.

3: After the whole season was almost over, they FINALLY have a purely mental challenge. For all her boasting about showing the "boys" what it was all about, Sam sure came out of it looking like an idiot. Two out of six; wow. Just, wow.

4: The minute they said the final challenge was about brawn and not brains, I knew Frank had it in the bag. JR's only hope was to get through the puzzle first. Soon as Frank finished the puzzle, I knew he had it.

5: Lauren was PISSED about getting cut by JR. The girl has crazy eyes. As soon as he said it was a hard decision and that he was only loyal to his fiancé, you could tell she knew what was coming and she was NOT happy.

6: I'm glad Frank one. Oh, he's boastful and cocky, but you know what? He has the right to be, because he can back it up. Unlike JR or Jeffrey who talk a good game about not being afraid of Frank, thinking they can beat him, etc., Frank has always backed up what he had to say. He's a family guy, a fireman, and seems like a friendly, decent sort of guy. Hyper competitive, sure; but that's the kind of people they want on the show. To me, though, he's an honorable competitor. He played hard for both teams, was honest and truthful with the other players, and made a good choice in picking Sam to save. Glad he won; I think I'd have puked if Jeffrey had.

Exactly, if you can walk the talk. Hey more power to ya. He deserved it. He should be proud of being a winner!

ITA 100%. I am ecstatic Frank won. I've been pulling for him since week 2.

Exactly. JR and Jeffrey were pathetic but at least we knew what Jeffrey was. JR was a phony pretending to be what he isn't. That makes him worse than Jeffrey even IMO!

If teaming up with Jeffrey is what JR calls strategizing, then losing the game is the least of his worries. He may need a brain transplant. Wow, just wow.
JR and most of Epoch were not the brightest bulbs in the shed, that's for sure. Neither brawn nor brains. Seems Frank has both.

Exactly. It was all about JR, for JR. No honor or real intelligent stratigizing, just the easiest knee jerk reaction.

That was a desperate excuse. Apparently JR is trying to play viewers for a fool too. We're not the stupid ones JR, look in the mirror, why don't you?

I made a post about your second point and I totally agree. I'm not sure he would have been saved and automatically moved on to the final if he saved Lauren but choosing Jeffry guaranteed that he wouldn't get that chance. They all knew that America was going to have some effect on the finale and the fact that he didn't think about that shows why he didn't deserve to win. I will say this though about JR, he did have a chance when they got to the puzzle portion of that obstacle course but he just couldn't figure it out.

The final obstacle challenge seemed like it was borrowed from Ninja Warrior/American Ninja Warrior. ANW airs on NBC, a sister channel of Syfy. I can't think that it was coincidental.

Doesn't really bother me, either way, except that it's not that original, and I'm not sure how it fits into the idea that Opposite Worlds was an experiment.

Mildly interesting, but I think the producers need to re-examine some aspects of the show, not just from the finale.

JR was a dick since day one. He was not loyal to anybody. He picked the parasite because he knew no one would pick IT but obviously; it backfired. Jerk deserves to lose and I hope his girlfriend dumps him. Frank was an obnoxious braggart but he does seem like a nice guy and he picked Sam instead of the other two who would have been less popular. Good for him; still he plucks his eyebrows.

Pretty much how I felt.

And, amazingly, it's the one challenge that Frank gets to skip because, for the first time all year, the producers claim that America loved him this week.

The only reason that he can back it up was because every challenge was a physical challenge perfectly suited for his brawn. I mean, remember that ball balancing challenge? His team won because Frank was the tallest person. Every other team has to stretch to hold their ball up while Frank was tall enough that he did not have to.

This whole show was a set-up right from the start to hand Frank the win.
