The original was pretty damn funny if one puts away their "Christmas movies MUST BE SAPPY" mindset. However, I dunno if Larry the Cable Guy will deliver. He's seemed to have lightened his act, at least for his screen performances, if the constant Cars spinoffs (and Tooth Fairy 2) are any indication.

I find Larry funny, but I couldn't believe that it's being called Jingle All the Way 2. WHAT on EARTH has it got to do with JAtW? I LOVE that movie; it's one of my family's favorite and most quotable holiday classics. The trailer I just saw looks more like Larry the Cable Guy paying homage to Christmas Vacation and Deck the Halls (that meh movie about Danny DeVito's and Matthew Broderick's decorating rivalry.) I really wonder why they're using this title...probably because it'll be a cheap direct-to-video thing and the recognizable title will make more people pick it up. If only out of curiosity...
