Better life lesson than the first one
Although Jingle All The Way was obviously way funnier and better acted and directed, the whole lesson of the movie is that kids don't have what they asked for at Christmas, Christmas is going to suck.
Well the idea is pretty silly, as a small kid I thought Santa Clause was a legend and it was funny pretending he would come and all of that and I never wrote a letter because honestly there wasn't much I wanted that I couldn't get the rest of the year.
And still I loved Christmas and still love it this day. And if someone asked me what I loved about Christmas I would've said that I loved the christmas lights, the christmas tree, the great food grandma would prepare but most of all being with my family, seeing my cousins that lived far away, playing games together. Toys was the last thing I would have enjoyed Christmas for.
So I think it's sad when I see some many kids today only caring about whatever expensive toy they asked Santa to bring them or even worse when I see parents reinforcing the idea that Christmas is only about expensive presents by getting obsessed with buying that specific toy otherwise "Christmas will suck for my kids". And you can't say "but come, Christmas is great for so many other reasons" because they will reply "nah, Christmas is just for the presents, expecially for a kid"
So, bad as it was, I'm glad this movie showed the real present the girl wanted was spending quality time with her family rather than a bunch of expensive plastic that can be bought any other day of the year.
