What's wrong with these people

They wasted a truth booth on John and Julia. They knew they weren't a match and the girls that Julia has been hanging out with know that she doesn't have any feelings for him. Then the psycho John, punches a hole in the wall and jumps in the face of a girl because he's clearly too scared to jump in Prosper's face. I initially thought he smacked Kaylen's bowl out of her hand but I went back and she just tossed it on the floor and breaks it. Wth?

I'm sure a nice amount of this is staged since they always try to make at least one person an obsessive idiot but... wtf

I think they just really wanted to know and settle it for sure given how obsessed John was. If they are a match - great, get them out of there, and if they're not - John has to get over it, refocus, and move on to find his actual match (which he never would have done if there was any possibility it was still Julia). To say they wasted it and knew they weren't a match I don't see, though. Maybe that's what some of them thought intuitively but a lot of these "matches" don't seem to be very intuitive or make a lot of sense, especially when you consider last season. That's why some people like Morgan are just trying to pick random people to pair up with and seeing what works because it often feels like some of these matches are just thrown together without much thought.
