Great to see some horror on tv

Reminded me of the MR James adaptations

reply

I agree.

The MR James feel grabbed me too, especially the beach scenes so reminiscent of "Oh, Whistle My Lad...".

And, I have to say, Ashley Pierce and his editors really know how to tell a ghost story: the last few minutes scared the living c**p out of me...

Lovely stuff!

'Duck, I says...'

Yep, very chilling and enjoyable.

Thought the first episode was great.

Agree with the MR James vibe. Eerie, well acted and genuinely unsettling.

The cinematography was outstanding.

Looking forward to the next one!

All his geese are swans!

reply

Manchester here. Currently rewatching it... and enjoying it more the second time around :-)

reply

reply

I would agree.

The slow build up to the tension in the last quarter was excellent. Sets the mood for the next episode.

reply

yea it was good then went on to excellent, so all good really 

can't wait for next episode, where you from RigsbysCat?

reply

Reminded me too much of MR James adaptations. It's like a remake "Whistle and I'll Come To You", with more eerie sounds and creaks (slightly silly) effects. I'll keep watching, obviously, hoping it goes on to copy some other classic ghost stories, not only that one...

reply

to be fair nothing is original anymore anyway, then you get some films or TV shows that are a mixture of 2/3 films/shows.

I'm sure it will influence some more stuff from other stuff but this is entertaining so don't care
